Job Description

The Business Development Manager will be instrumental in driving growth in Indonesia! In addition, they will provide deep, ongoing analysis and understanding of the Life Sciences industry to regional management, marketing and field applications groups to ensure alignment with the country’s needs. The individual builds strong relationships with key opinion leaders and works closely with cross-functional teams to drive incremental growth opportunities in Indonesia, especially across the Cell & Gene therapy, Biopharma/Bioproduction, and Precision Medicine market verticals.

The Business Development Manager understands the needs of the Indonesia market, the key opinion leaders and key stakeholders within these verticals. The candidate uses their knowledge to identify new opportunities, nurture the partnerships and relationships needed to gather new business and expand the potential of existing business to achieve the financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Find new customers; Incubate products and solutions with early adopters,

  • Promote workflow selling to end customers in the key vertical markets

  • Implement initiatives across high potential vertical markets,

  • Develop and implement a key account strategy for working with BID commercial leaders to drive incremental growth through value proposition and workflow selling solutions

  • Supervise market trends and intelligence including competition, macroeconomics and the regulatory environment, and use it to influence/drive incremental revenue targets,

  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities for growth, engaging cross Division to drive business development opportunities and enable them to expand share of the addressable market,

  • Collaborate with the Divisional teams to develop plans and go-to-market strategies that are in line with business objectives

  • Cultivate strategic partnerships. Help build winning proposals,

  • Develop and drive messaging & tools that communicate the value/brand directly to customers through different go-to-market channels, including channels and marketing activities.

  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of all business development activities,

  • Implement consistently on plan targets. Success linked to incremental revenue delivery over and above existing annual revenue targets.

  • Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and applicable laws

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a life sciences related field (Biology, Biomedical Sciences or Biotechnology); MSc preferred

  • 3+ years of meaningful experience (business development, sales manager, scientific sales or other customer facing commercial roles)

  • Experience in dealing with government bodies, KOLs, multiple large and sophisticated projects

  • In depth understanding of Cell & Gene therapy, Biopharma/Bioproduction, and Precision Medicine market verticals.

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Systematic problem solving by working with customers and internal team.

  • Take ownership and able to demonstrate leadership in all aspects

  • Ability to work in a global and multicultural team

  • Must be self-motivated and enjoy challenges.

  • Ability to travel as needed
