Job Description

GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) Electronic Engineer, Associate at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. This position requires a candidate that has a current and active Secret clearance. The role will be as a CREW Electronics Technician to work at the front end of the delivery of our operation. This position requires individuals who are self-motivated, suitably experienced, qualified, and able to follow instructions clearly but also able to make command decisions on the spot in order to achieve the aims of the organization. Specific systems may include AN/VLQ-12 CREW Duke system, vehicle-mounted Duke V2, Warlock jammers, Duke V3 vehicle-mounted jammer, and Ground Auto-Targeting Observation/Reactive Jammer (GATOR) V2. This position can require the conduct of work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures – up to 130F degrees in the summer months. Maintains an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software.

How the Electronics Technician will make an impact:

  • Provide routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
  • Troubleshoots system hardware and software issues.
  • Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software.
  • Performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Conducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users.
  • May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies.
  • Perform all aspects of CREW and GATOR systems troubleshooting and repair to include communications-electronics and EW systems:
  • Performs inspections of system components, preventive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of modules and circuit cards to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU)/component.
  • Perform logistic support requirements such as research, and equipment and spare part inventories.
  • Perform operational test and return to service checks.
  • Read and interpret schematic and engineering drawings and diagrams.
  • Develop integration plans and perform hardware integrations.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work as a member of a cohesive team as well as independently.
  • Interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful way.
  • Multi-task efficiently and work in a fast pace environment on multiple projects.
  • Work with minimal supervision, documents maintenance tasks via local or web- based reporting system, provides system functional briefings to customer and supervisor.
  • Train personnel at the installation site in proper use of highly specialized electronic equipment.
  • Performs all other duties assigned.
  • May be required to go TDY to multiple locations within SWA.
  • Majority of time spent providing repairs in a shop environment and at the customer location.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • BA/BS or equivalent, 2+ years of experience.
  • Completion of CRC and full issue of PPE mandatory requirement for this position.
  • Able to meet Kuwait government requirements to be assigned in Kuwait.
  • Currently Kuwait is a 48 hour work week.
  • Current and Active Secret clearance.
