As a Family Navigator, you will join Laura Baker Services, promoting the wellbeing of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Acting as the first line of response to families, you will communicate in an open, helpful, and engaging manner to build trusting relationships that focus on finding the right outcomes and solutions for each family.
You connect to help guide families of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through the increasingly complex and challenging ecosystem of IDD services and supports. You are a creative problem solver and relationship builder.
You will help create collaborative networks that support families as they take steps to understand and navigate the services and resources that are needed to achieve the outcomes that the family desires.
Guide families through and around barriers in the developmental disabilities space. Provide support to overcome obstacles faced in accessing and receiving services needed to respect the life choices and dreams of people with developmental disabilities and help them reach their goals.
Main function of this position is to facilitate families of individuals with developmental disabilities access to services that will increase better outcomes - both in individuals functioning and, in their ability, to reach their goals.
Listening and building trust with individuals and their families is critical. Use LBSA's deep expertise and creative strategies to overcome barriers and find solutions. In addition, you will assist families with finding tailored support services, community supports, activities, and needed resources.
