Are you an experienced payroll specialist with an experience of working in a multi-site business? If so, we’ve got an opportunity for you to join our team! You’ll be supporting our UK teams to manage the end-to-end payroll experience, processing accurate and timely payments for all our partners (employees) in retail stores and support centre.

You will be liaising with the wider HR team to ensure all personal/payroll data is collated and input correctly and work with our suppliers to resolve any discrepancies that may be encountered during each payroll period.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have previous experience working in a multi-site payroll team, showing demonstrable experience using both Payroll and HR systems. Ideally, you’ll also have experience with SAP. We’ll look to you to demonstrate your knowledge of payroll legislation as well as having extensive knowledge of tax, national insurance, and statutory payments.

As our payroll specialist you’ll get involved in:

  • Processing and validating the 4 weekly work force management (Quinyx) timecard data from retail stores and assisting the team making sure all data is received by the deadlines. Processing the retail store payroll in collaboration with our provider o resolve any discrepancies that may be encounters during each payroll period.
  • Managing payroll queries and time data corrections from retail stores and support centre. Liaise with partners across the business as required and actively support in root cause solutions to reduce the number of payroll queries.
  • Collating payroll data on a 4-weekly basis, including calculating and processing statutory payments of SMP, SPP, SSP and company sick pay. Process Tax, NI and benefit scheme deductions.
  • Updating and maintaining personnel and payroll records – this will include processing and inputting tax documents P45, new starter documents, etc. as well as ensuring accurate maintenance of statutory data.
  • Calculation and payment of off-cycle payments (advances, holiday pay, termination payments).
  • Assisting with period end routines, including preparation and, reconciliation of payroll balance sheet accounts and finance monthly reporting requirements, keeping accurate records of resolutions for audit purposes.
  • Collating data to ensure the correct calculation of pension contributions under auto enrolment. Liaising with third parties to enable the transfer of information between different systems. Communicating with Starbucks outsourced payroll provider to ensure that the results are included in the appropriate payroll run, with changes to pension auto enrolment status processed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Supporting in delivering payroll business projects, including data gathering, process design, testing and reporting.
