Job title: Communications Administrator
Reports to: Manager, Communications and Branding
Job purpose
The Communications Administrator is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of all Skate Ontario communications across all channels under the direction of the Manager, Communications and Branding.
Duties and responsibilities
- Execute communication plans for projects and initiatives as assigned
- Maintain e-blast contact lists for all stakeholder groups
- Write, edit and organize/schedule assigned e-blasts and send to the appropriate stakeholder lists, including weekly newsletters
- Post to and manage the Skate Ontario social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube and engage with the online community to promote our events and initiatives
- Update the Skate Ontario website with the most up-to-date information, resources and imagery, corresponding with information from all other Skate Ontario communication channels
- Assist in executing initiatives for partnership marketing, which may include but not limited to creating co-branded content, coordinating sponsor activations, ensuring sponsor visibility online (website and social media) as well as maintaining on time and on-spec delivery of assets to the Coordinator, Digital Productions for live stream integration
- As directed, engage with the sports community, sponsors, partners and fans to foster a sense of belonging and promote our programs
- Support basic graphic design using various Adobe programs
- Be the first point of contact for the organization by answering general inquiries via email
- Monitor key analytics from social media, website, eblasts and live streaming
- Support the organizational communication needs surrounding the Skate Ontario and Skate Canada Awards program
- Attend various Skate Ontario events to take pictures and upload content to social media channels in real time
- Ongoing communications support across the organization as directed
Qualifications and experience
Qualifications include:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications is strongly preferred
- Relevant work experience, preferably in communications or digital marketing is an asset
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices
- Experience in writing and executing communications plans
- Experience working with Wordpress
Skills and fit:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and on a team
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, changeable environment
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Knowledge of the Ontario skating landscape is an asset
- Access to a vehicle is an asset
Working conditions
1-Year Contract
Hybrid Model – Office/work-from-home
Extended hours on evenings and weekends from time to time will be required to meet the needs of the business including some travel across Ontario
