Job Description:
This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of Trade Operations for the KSA. In addition, the candidate will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure services are rendered appropriately, and the quality of Trade Operations deliverables is consistently high. The candidate will be work closely with KSA General Manager & Trade Operations Lead – ME/ Russia.
The successful contributor will be a dynamic, experienced individual with a strong track record of experience across a variety of settings and topics in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. She/he must have the proven ability to effectively manage complex projects, influence stakeholders without authority, effectively network across a global organization and communicate with leaders all within a fast moving, challenging and dynamic commercial environment.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
Specific responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:
- Demand Forecast Process:
- Develop, implement, and lead the Demand planning process
- Responsible for the SO&P monthly cycle and driving optimal forecast accuracy.
- Supply and distribution management:
- Commercial oversight of supply chain management to ensure supply meets market demand requirements
- Manage day to day operations for all trading partners including distribution, inventory management and reverse logistics
- Prevent bottlenecks in transport of purchased goods during international trade (Incoterms)
- Responsible for oversight on order to cash process including placement of orders & invoicing
- Manage Distribution and Logistic partners to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
- Establish relationships with key partners like Finance, Commercial to support integration of Trade Data in business operations
- Coordinates other departments within Saudi Affiliate and external parties to maintain inventories at the planned level, ensuring resources are sufficient to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Point of escalation for local supply and distribution issues management.
- Oversees/coordinates import of finished goods with the relevant stakeholders and at times including clinical studies goods and support material.
- Oversight of the Logistic Service Provider/ Distributor regarding PO, shipping and delivery of Gilead product or any other goods, and management of external and internal customer issues.
- Responsible for periodic reporting activities and KPIs, delivering accurate and timely information mainly related to sales tracking by product, sector, closure reports and inventory management.
- Support product launches with regards to logistics and distribution activities.
- Assists with development and implementation of Supply Chain policies, procedures, techniques, standards, and systems.
- Represent the trade operations team by example, respecting Gilead core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, excellence, and inclusion
Skills and experience:
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required
- M.B.A. (Finance / marketing), Economics or any suitable degree in Demand / Supply preferred
- 5+ years in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry including expertise in trade, tender operations, supply chain, manufacturing and/or logistics
- Expertise in Advanced MS Excel
- Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency across multiple practices within Supply Chain department, to understand, coordinate and communicate across the competing demands of each.
- Strong leadership and self-direction, comfort and experience tackling ambiguous and complex problems. Must be able to lead and influence without authority
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, negotiate effectively, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing, experience presenting before executive staff
