For the Channel Operations department we are looking a full time:

(Sr) Director Language Editors

This position is open to candidates located in multiple regions across Europe and Asia-Pacific. We welcome applicants from any country in these regions as long as we have a Paramount Global office in the respective location.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The (Sr) Director Language Editors will be heading up a group of specialists in the field of editorial localization oversight around various locations in mainly, but not limited to, Europe and APAC.

The role will have both a GLOBAL and LOCAL responsibility.
In the GLOBAL responsibility the director will assume all typical line manager responsibilities with various specialists across the organization, representing the interest of the group of language editors, in accordance with the wider strategies form the various brands and Paramount Global.
In the LOCAL responsibility, depending on the specific region the director will represent, you will undertake the local editorial responsibility of the full editorial dubbing/voiceover/subtitling processes of Paramount content, making sure they are carried out within Brand scope, with the highest possible standards, and delivered within the required timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Global tasks: Be the main point of contact for the Brands and Production/Creative teams, for all cross-regional language versioning matters Represent all the needs and requirements in the future state project meetings, for all cross-regional language versioning matters Be the escalation person for all the changes and issues for anything related to cross-regional language versioning, within the organization Make sure all Regions continue aligning their workflows and processes in accordance with the wider workflow evolution of the company Represent the language versioning department in any new/upcoming forum or project Positively challenge the language versioning requirement and needs with other department within the organization, to make sure the language needs are protected, and the local strategy and business needs are completed successfully Stay abreast of all Regions/Languages local market changes, new requirements, union evolutions and communicate them to all the relevant stakeholders within the organization Stay abreast of all Regions/Languages local legal and compliance rules, needs and changes, communicate and represent them in all the relevant forums Stay abreast with all global trends in relation to localization and associated technologies

Local Editor tasks: Collaborate with localization vendors and provide/create creative brief/VTKs for each property Collaborate with Global Language Operations (GLO) to smoothen the end-to-end localization process Oversee casting selection and approvals In collaboration with GLO, oversee the entire localisation process, conduct scripts review and evaluate accuracy/quality of translations for subtitles and/or adaptations depending on the localization requirements Ensure the original creative intent is preserved and developed within the cast choice/translations/adaptations Make sure local cultural sensitivity is considered and maintained, whilst upholding translation quality and original intent Quality check of the final product - subtitling accuracy and speed, and all aspects of the dubs: language, voice selection and character delivery, sound quality of the final mix, lip-sync accuracy Ensure all language versioning logistics are taken care of and deliveries meet requirements Keep abreast of DE&I matters and evolutions within the territory Keep abreast of market changes, union movements, economical evolutions in the language versioning field Create innovative views on versioning improvements that align and evolve with content strategy changes Participate and support international initiatives/projects around the changes/improvements in the language localization areas

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Fluent in English (both written and verbal); another language is a plus

EXPERIENCE: Approximately 5 years working experience in audio visual content localization and/or production/project management Previous experience of working in an international company, managing a team, and dealing with people from different backgrounds/cultures and levels Proven track record of understanding different and complex types of versioning requirements (subtitling, voiceover and dubbing) Strong affinity with Paramount content and viewers Bachelor’s degree in Languages related subjects or Media related studies Broad knowledge of Global language operations, and business/regulations differences in the various markets Good understanding of technicalities, and the various file formats
