What can I expect to do in this role?
In this challenging role, you will:- plan, conduct, coordinate and lead multiple complex and diverse investigations such as allegations related to fraud including misapplication, misappropriation or misuse of ministry assets, conflict of interest or other acts of dishonesty in the conduct of OPS business
- be part of a diverse team of investigators and digital forensic specialists as a corporate investigative resource serving all ministries
How do I qualify?
Investigative and Auditing Expertise
- you have excellent financial and forensic auditing skills and knowledge of professional auditing and accounting methodologies, techniques and practices
- you have knowledge of and experience in investigative standards, procedures and techniques including planning, data and evidence gathering, analysis and interviews
- you can interpret and apply relevant provincial and federal legislation (e.g. Public Service of Ontario Act, Canada Evidence Act, Criminal Code of Canada), collective agreements and other statutes and regulations
- you can ensure that case work meets relevant professional standards (e.g. investigations, auditing)
Communication, Interpersonal and Consultation Skills
- you have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills to provide reports, complex findings and conclusions to all levels of senior management
- you work effectively in a team environment and can collaborate with internal and external partners
- you have consultation skills to lead and direct consultant firms and provide support to law enforcement agencies
- you demonstrate superior judgment, tact and diplomacy to conduct interviews and deal with sensitive situations
Project Management and Leadership Skills
- you can provide direction to work groups and deal with conflicting demands
- your project management expertise ensures investigations are on target and on budget
- you have organizational skills to balance multiple investigations, prioritize investigations and develop plans that will yield timely, responsible, informed and useful information
Analytical and Computer Skills
- you have experience conducting data analysis of large data sets using data analytic software
- you have analytical and research skills to assess relevance of information, synthesize large sets of data, correlate evidence and develop findings and conclusions
- you have demonstrable knowledge of computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations, as well as knowledge of computer assisted audit or investigation techniques
