Senior Technical Expert 4-stroke
We are looking for a safety & quality minded, dynamic, flexible and detail oriented high performer to join our fast paced and exciting Technical Service Team as a 4 Stroke Engine Mechanics and/or Automation. As a Senior Technical Expert, you ensure customer satisfaction by providing high quality and on-time technical support received from both internal and external customers.
The preferred location for this position is in Rubbestadneset, Norway.
Your responsibilities will be
- Manage and actively participate in the group for "Root-Cause Analysis"
- Contribute to product improvement processes for 4-Stroke products
- Follow the relevant specialist environment - both internally and externally - through literature, research and contact with other businesses
- Attend customer meetings and seminars in cooperation with our Service Sales Department
- Provide specialist expertise through internal product training (internal staff)
- Work in close cooperation with the partner teams within Technical Services, close cooperation exists amongst these teams to enable efficient and word-class support
- Participate in our 24/7 Duty
- Perform Audits and Site Investigations
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have
- Approximately 5 years of working experience within 4 Stroke Engine Mechanics and/or Automation and machinery controls
- Relevant experience with operations and/or installation and maintenance of other Wartsila products is a strong plus
- A true team player with a proactive approach and technical reporting skills
- Customer focused with a service minded attitude
- Good English, Norwegian/Scandinavian skills, both verbally and written
- Ability to flexibility and good cooperation skills
- Ability to work systematically
- Technical problem-solving skills
- Safety certificate for offshore (if not Wärtsilä will cover expenses for this)
- Willingness to travel
Education
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering or bachelor’s degree in Marine, Automation, Electrical, or other applicable technical degree is desirable
- Documented relevant experience can compensate for lack of relevant education
